The sandcastle in Banjo-Kazooie is now here
I was doing Peach’s Castle from Super Mario 64, a very complex stage. And I decided to take a break and make a more simple stage. And this is the one. There are 6 different versions in the download folder. Let’s quickly explain them:
- STGSANDCASTLE -> The standard stage seen from the side. There’s a door on the left, and it’s the only way to kill your opponents.
-STGSANDCASTLE_FRONT-> The stage seen from the door. There’s no way to kill your opponent here, so it’s better for stamina matches. Or just playing until getting the 999% xD
- _WATER -> Any of the previous stages may have some not-moving water that makes the stage look cool. You can’t swim on it, it’s just a water-step effect.
- _NOWATER -> Any of the previous stages, without the water. Just the dry sandcastle to play on.
- _RISE -> Well, both stages can have some water rising at a certain moment of the match, during a short moment. This only works when you’re using Jungle Japes as the base for the stage. It only rises once to try not to get any character drown. Anyway, this may happen, so don’t be quiet on the water.

And finally, the Results Screen in the Sandcastle:

Brilliant. And I’m glad to hear you’re working on Peach’s Castle. My peach’s castles I designed a while (read: years) ago could use a replacement. xD
Epic stage work Mewtwo. Your work is always spot on. I love that you made a results screen version of it too.
I wish there was a code so that the results screen matched the stage you just fought on. So if you played on Final Destination, the game would load STGRESULT_FINAL.pac, so the results screen matches the stage you actually played on. I love Results Screen hacks but I just wish you weren’t limited to one.
K. Enough rambling…. Great work again.
man every time. every time i see ur work i am AMAZED!
how do u do the texturing? rip it from the source or do you do it from scratch?
The textures themselves are straight from the game, but I need to edit them to make them look fine. Shades and such, don’t know how to explain. The original textures are just brown. The green and darker parts are edited by me.
can you make a version where we can die at the top too?
The rising water and the texture are beautiful. Absolutely amazing work as always Mewtwo2k
@Segab Yes, I’ll post it here when it’s done and tested.
@SDo0m Thanks, I appreciate your comment =)
Ahhhh the joy of nostalgia. Awesome stage man. =D
Ok, as a response to Segab’s request, I’ve included 2 more versions (_TOPDIE)
They’re the water rising ones, but there’s no ceiling now. You die when you reach the higher part of the ceiling.
If anybody wants the same thing for the _WATER or _NOWATER versions, just tell me.
By the way, if you’re curious, try the ‘fixed camera’ mode in special brawl with the stage xD
Excellent. It’s wonderful that you’ve actually included multiple stages in this one thought. And the rising water effect is a really nice touch. I love the way it’s turned out and you can see banjo on the side. ^.^
This is a pretty cool stage, but can you only get the water to rise once? I’d personally remove boundaries from the right side and possible the top too, but that’s just my personal preference.
Awesome Job!
I could make it rise repeated times, but it would increase the chance for characters to get drown. When the water rised for the second time, the characters would be tired from the previous swim, and they would be able to die. Yeah, they go through the floor when this happens.
About the walls, well, I could have made it so you can die everywhere, but I thought that the most normal thing is just don’t go through walls. There’s a ceiling free version already, with the _TOPDIE word in the file.
lol i loved this puzzle in bk1. thx for this lol
